I connected my findings in an affinity matrix, sorting into four categories:
My findings pushed me towards the direction of design for disposability and effects on the environment.
The world is constantly changing, recent environmental disasters and the amount of litter on the sides of the roads brought the issue to our attention.
As an on-the-go person, I used to eat fast food often. The amount of packaging and waste being thrown away was concerning.
After conducting multiple interviews, our intention is to bring awareness to this issue by designing and building an app for the local community to participate in environmental waste cleanups.
CONSUMERS WANT A FAST AND EASY EXPERIENCE
The experience with the costumer and worker, the quality and how quickly food is received are all important parts of the experience going out to eat fast food.
POLLUTION IS AFFECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT
Most respondents noticed trash the most around the highway exits and are becoming more aware of how bad people litter the environment.
PACKAGING AFFECTS THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE
The wrapping of the food in paper and plastic packaging is convenient and a easy solution to a quick food experience
THE IMPACT OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Recycling and doing little things like throwing away your trash or using less plastic can make a positive change.
TIME AND LOCATION THAT CONSUMERS EAT FAST FOOD
Most of the respondents eat fast food at night when there is nothing else to eat, a few eat it after their shift at work because it is easy and close to their home.
